Summary of Incident:
On September 4, 2024, at approximately 6:45 PM, officers were dispatched to ///redacted/// following a call reporting an unresponsive female in a private residence. Upon arrival, officers identified the victim as Lila Monroe, a 23-year-old female, lying on the floor in the living room area. Paramedics from EMSA arrived on the scene and pronounced the victim deceased at 7:56 PM. The cause of death is currently undetermined and pending an autopsy by the Medical Examiner's Office.
Preliminary Investigation:
Detectives from the Homicide Unit arrived on the scene and initiated an initial investigation. The residence showed no immediate signs of forced entry. A number of potential evidence items were collected, including personal belongings and digital devices. Witnesses in the area are being identified and interviewed, and surveillance footage from nearby cameras is being reviewed.
